Prayer & Fasting Ministry

God considers fasting important.

Fasting is something we see throughout the bible, both in the New and the Old Testament. The bible teaches that “Man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.” The reason we fast from time to time is that it provides a focused time of reminding ourselves that though food nourishes us physically, it is God and his Word that nourishes our souls.

His Word, in fact, contains 92 passages mentioning it. Many of our heroes of the faith, including Moses, Elijah, Esther, Nehemiah, Daniel and Paul, fasted at crucial points.

Jesus both taught and modeled fasting. After being anointed by the Holy Spirit, He was led into the wilderness to fast and pray for 40 days (Matthew 4:2). During the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus gave specific instructions on how to fast (Matthew 6:16-18). Jesus knew the followers He addressed would fast.

The West Brampton Community Church of God is a prayerful church where all members of the church meet during the week to pray for all the prayer requests and place them before the feet of our King Jesus. To become a part of our prayer team, please contact the main office at (905) 457 7339.

This ministry helps members develop and maintain a strong personal relationship with God through faithful personal and corporate prayer and fasting. This is done through resources, workshops, clinics and classes.

Prayer request forms can be found in the pews in the Sanctuary or with one of the elders/ushers of the Church. Prayer requests should be placed in the tithing box or in the offering plate.

We believe spiritual fasting to be an integral part of a believer’s walk of life. If you wish to be a part of this growing ministry contact the church office for more details.
